When you think about amateur radio companies that offer a broad range of products, MFJ Enterprises Inc. surely tops the list. Having been around for over four decades, they’ve built a good reputation for, innovation, and customer satisfaction. From antennas and tuners to amplifiers and filters, their large catalog has every amateur radio need covered. Plus, they’ve got these well-known sub-brands like Ameritron, Hy-Gain, Cushcraft, Vectronics, and Mirage, each one specializing in different areas.
I’ve been a faithful customer of MFJ Enterprises Inc. for a while now, and let me tell you, I’m constantly impressed by their products’ performance, durability, user-friendliness, and affordability. They’ve made my amateur radio experience so much more enjoyable and have helped me level up my skills and knowledge. I’ve had the pleasure of trying out quite a few of their products:
Take the MFJ-994B Intellituner, for example. It’s an automatic antenna tuner, equipped to handle up to 600 watts of power and can match any antenna from 12 to 800 ohms. With features like a large cross-needle meter, built-in frequency counter, and 2500 tuning setting memories, it’s both speedy and accurate. It’s made my life so much easier, and I love how customizable it is!
Then there’s the MFJ-1708SDR. It’s an automatic antenna switch that helps me share my antenna between my transceiver and an SDR receiver. With a built-in RF sense circuit, it’s like it knows when I transmit and protects the SDR antenna line from any damaging RF. Plus, it also comes with a PTT input for manual switching. Fast, reliable, and safeguarding my SDR from any potential damage or interference.
We also have the MFJ-870, the grandmaster SWR/wattmeter. It measures SWR and power from 1.8 to 525 MHz, with two large cross-needle meters displaying forward power, reflected power, SWR, and peak readings. Plus, it handles up to 3 Kilowatts of power and is incredibly accurate and easy to read!
Last but not least, I’ve had the pleasure of owning the MFJ-949E, a versatile manual antenna tuner. This guy can match any antenna from 6 to 1600 ohms. With a built-in dummy load, a balun for balanced lines, a cross-needle meter for SWR and power readings, and a bypass switch for direct antenna connection, it’s very easy to operate and highly customizable.
These are just a few highlights from my collection of MFJ Enterprises Inc. products. Each has been a joy to use, and I highly recommend them to fellow amateur radio enthusiasts. MFJ Enterprises Inc. is a company that constantly innovate and produce more functional products for our hobby. They’re truly pioneers in the amateur radio industry, and I can’t wait to see what else they’ll come up with in the future.
