Die BACAR ballon gaan nie meer vlieg nie.  Na baie samesprekings die afgelope tyd met "Central Airspace Management Unit" wil hulle nie vir ons toestemming gee nie.

Op Sondag 24 Januarie 2010 lanseer Boland Amateurradio Klub ‘n BACAR.  (BACAR staan vir Balloon Carrying Amature Radio.)

Die BACAR het verskeie radio’s, wat ‘n herhaler insluit asook ‘n kamara aan boord.

Alle aksie tydens die vlug sal vanaf Worcester Lughawe gevolg kan word waar die Beheersentrum sal wees.

Hier volg bietjie inligting oor BACAR:

"Normally as the winds change at different altitudes we never exceed 150klm along the ground.  We are hoping for a new SA record of 27000 meters high we have already got to 24000 meters.  The height and distance will depend on the direction of the wind.  If the wind is towards the see we will show you how fast we can bring down a balloon (Hi)  If the wind is inland we are content to leave it up until the balloons pop (30000meters) about 4 hours."
